The Water Lily Stole is a wonderful light and airy stole using traditional Estonian Lace patterns. The stole gets its name from the water lily pattern that frames the center motif. The center pattern has lots of delicate open work with nupps added for a hint of texture. Water Lily stole is worked in two identical halves from the center out, starting from a provisional cast on. Once you finish with one side, flip it around, unzip the cast on edge, and begin working the other side.
At first glance, the Water Lily stole appears to be extremely complex; however, in reality, it is a very easy design using nothing more than simple decreases, yarn overs and knitting through the back loop. Also, to add to the pattern’s ease, all the lace work is done on the right side.
