Stripes on Stripes Hat
This easy-to-knit hat makes fun use of multiple colorways of self-striping sock yarn, and doubles up the weight for a squishier fabric and quicker knitting! The brim starts with all four strands held together, doubling the thickness, so it acts almost like a folded-up brim. (And the brim can optionally fold up, too, for extra mega warmth!)
While the design is simple, thoughtful details include an optional 2-color cast on, an interesting method for increasing from the 4-strand brim to the 2-strand body stitch count, and a rounded crown. Throughout the body and crown, the double-stranded self-striping yarns are worked in one-row
stripes, which makes the knitting hard to put down as you’ll keep wanting to see what’s gonna stripe next!
