Fishermen used fancy knotwork to cover a ship’s wheels and rails for easier gripping in wet conditions, and the work kept them entertained on long voyages. Sennit’s cables echo this fancywork, with the lines crossing between the main and edging cables and even the cabled ribbing.
The Sennit Vest is worked flat in two pieces from the bottom up. The cable chart is repeated several times across the width of both front and back. Cable ribbing is worked in the round on both neck and armholes after seaming. The stitch patterns are both charted and written.
Sample is 37.25" size; model is 34" bust.
