Midnight in Paris Lace Wrap
This versatile lace wrap will look elegant with a little black dress but is also right at home with more casual clothes. The allover lace pattern is easier than it looks, simply formed by repeating the same panel design multiple times across the width of the garment. A series of double joins eases the edging, knitted on after the center section is finished, smoothly around the corners.
In designing this garment, I aimed for a wrap that would look right at home in Montmartre of the 1920's-- drapey and sophisticated. Black seemed to capture the look I wanted, but the garment would be splendid in any color you choose!
If you are comfortable working with fine lace yarn and knitting on a border, you can do this project. To accommodate the preferences of a variety of knitters, instructions for the lace center and the edging are presented both in words and in chart form.
