A cierzo is a strong, dry wind that blows through the Ebro valley of Northern Spain. Although more common in the autumn or winter it can happen any time of year ~ and so Cierzo, a little shawlette to help ward off its chill.
This shawlette was especially designed to use 1 full cake of Knit Picks Stroll Gradient, a lusciously soft next-to-the-skin yarn. Knit from the bottom up, it begins with a Crochet Cast On and ends with a Double Drawstring Bind Off (photo tutorials included for both these techniques). In between are two complimentary lace patterns that blend in beautiful harmony.
Two sets of directions are included, one for chart users and one for those who prefer written directions.
Gauge note: It is important to match gauge exactly, the sample used all but 3.5yds / 3.2m of the one yarn cake. If in doubt, it is recommended that an extra cake be ordered; the matching colour end can then be used to finish the top of the shawlette.
The yarn used in the sample is no longer available. We have made some substitution suggestions in the Kit Builder below.
