Bead Lightning Shawl
Sometimes inspiration for a new design hit you like a bolt of lightning literally! As I was sitting on my balcony with some lace yarn and matching beads struggling to come up with a unique design, a flash of lightning struck nearby. Thankfully, instead of the lightning, an idea struck me: Bead Lightning! Lightning in which the intensity appears to vary along the path, and which resembles a string of beads! The pattern appears as panels of vertical and horizontal bolts of lightning when it is worn.
Great for a beginner to become familiar with working with lace and beads and an advanced knitter who likes elegance and the drape that beads lend. Beads are strung before knitting.
You will need size 6 seed beads. 564 beads for the 60" x 18" sized shawl and 668 beads for the 70" x 18" sized shawl.
