Knitting Community

I left for dinner last night carrying my purse stuffed with my mis-knit scarf and new yarn. My plan was to do the heartbreaking ripping while in the company of loving family members and then get started again right away.

And, I am very happy!! I am knitting with one strand of new (fresh) yarn and one strand of ripped (used) yarn. The difference in the fabric is just like Erica's scarf in our office! Much, much, much better!! Today I am going to enjoy reading The Help by and knitting. We will be celebrating New Year's Eve at home with some of Bob's kids. Ali and Bob have planned the menu. Ali will be coordinating all of the cooking so I won't be in the kitchen at all! Lots and lots of knitting while I struggle to stay awake until midnight. Ok, I will probably sneak into the kitchen to brew a large pot of coffee.

Ooo, let me know what you think of The Help. I've been meaning to read it since it came out and I think that it might be the next one that I snatch up. It sounds like it would be a perfect compliment to knitting. ^_^

I'm about to rip my first attempt at a sweater. It's heart breaking but it needs to be done. It just wouldn't look right. I need a new design. Ooh time for some research!

Kelley, There are times when ripping is a good thing, and this is one of them. I too am knitting all evening, and talking to my friends here. We went out to eat this afternoon, and are just snacking as we wait for the New Year to burst through. Happy New Year to you and your family! --S

I finished The Help last week and enjoyed it very much. It tells a wonderful story while, gently, making you think. I'm off to knit my way into the new year, too.

Sounds like a great way to ring in the new yare!! I plan on knitting until the stroke of midnight, giving my husband a new year’s kiss and heading off to bed. All while making a list of resolutions.
Cheers~Stephanie
