Knitting Community

Last night I went to my first knitting group meeting.  What a nice group of women.  Everyone was very warm and welcoming even though we'd never met before.  Everyone brought out their current projects as well as recent purchases.  I never saw so many lace shawls.  It makes me want to try more adventurous projects.

The group knits baby caps for premature babies and pink scarves for women undergoing cancer treatments.  When my daughters were born, they were premies and someone in Connecticut knit caps for them 18 years ago.  I guess I'm going to be returning the favor.  The idea of making a scarf for a cancer patient seems appropriate after watching what my Mom went through.

I'm looking forward to next month's meeting.

Sounds like you are just continuing the Pay It Forward. It is always nice to give without expecting something in return and in hopes they will do the same for someone else in the future.
