My own design, a simple fair isle pattern in 3 colors. This was a really fun first project in stranded knitting!

I used Swish Worsted weight yarn in Dublin, Lawn, and Bok Choy.

The pea pod came from the book Amigurumi Knits, by Hansi Singh.

Close up of the pea pod--

Ear flaps keep those little lobes warm :-)

It has a picot edge, which involves knitting 8 rows in St. St., then a turning row of (K2tog, YO), then another 8 rows of St. St.. then you either knit the cast on row to the next row, or tack it up later with yarn and needle. I did the latter. Next time, i might do a provisional cast on using waste yarn, and knit it in. Tacking it was not too bad, but next tine i will know to baste it in place at the N-S-E-W compass points, so that it folds nicely. Since I did not do that this time, I had to take it out and redo it twice!!

It is a very simple fair isle patterns, i should write it down before i forget. (and before i give the hat away) I have a hard time seeing right now, so i can't really see my paper. I would try to write down a pattern to try, then it would disappear off the paper! So i just started knitting it and it turned out OK.
