Amigurumi
Besides hats, i love amigurumi - cute little toys and doo-dads. I have made a couple toys, but i seem to be using knitted/crocheted amigurumi to embellish my hats these days.
anyway, here are my favorites, from "Amigurumi Knits" by Hansi singh
first i did the earthworm - GREAT starter project, it taught me about picking up stitches and short rows.
Then i went on to make the ant - this was such a fun challenge!!! I hope to make it again in brown.
hHere it is in its natural setting ;-)
Next up are the jellyfish, octopus, and many other creatures from Singh's book, as well as a few patterns i got from Lulu. And the carmen miranda monkey (KP kit). I also have a KP kit of 4 little animals, hopefully that will get done for my daughter sometime soon!!!

Thanks kate!! that earthworm was such a great starter project!! it really taught me so much. My daughter took the clitellum (cuff) off tho, and used it as a cast for her stuff cat toy, LMBO. I love when she does that, so imaginative, ...but at the same time, it is hard to watch my creations be taken apart and revamped! ;-)
I'll have to check out the owl, as my husband likes them, and H. S's projects are so lifelike and wonderful!! Is it an online patter, free or for saLE?
