I know I have fallen off the grid for the last few days but I have two good reasons.
First, a whammy of a migraine. I have been using a lovely medication for about a year that I absolutely love!! If has made my frequent migraines non-existent. The only downside is that only determined migraines get through the medical stockade. Set off by a huge change in our local barometric pressure, this one had a great start and took full advantage of the opportunity. Ever since I was quite young I've anthr… Continue
We will be hosting a book signing for Mary Scott Huff. Kate has been busy organizing it and has a blog entry with all the details.

Over the weekend I received a lovely link, in Ravelry, to a handspun, sock knitting, KAL. Yippee!! I clicked over to the Discussion Thread, said I would love to participate, added my note and went on with the rest of my weekend.
Yep, I forgot to join the group, can't remember the host's ID - nothing, nada, zilch!! Short Term Memory disaster!!
If the kind lady who invited me reads my blog, or anyone else who joined the Ravelry KAL for handspun, hand-knit socks, please take pity on me and send m… Continue
Now that I'm finished with my Learn To Knit Socks video series, I am ready to tackle some new projects. I would love suggestions!
Here is what I already have on my list

I had forgotten how energizing it is once you have joined the sleeves of a sweater with the body! My cardigan is now my constant knitting companion! Remember, it is football season so I have lots of time to knit! :) Continue
As you know, I went a bit crazy at the Sock Summit this summer! I am industriously knitting my way through the collection of yarns I could not resist!

I'm ready to show you how to knit the heel flap, make the heel turn, pick up the gusset stitches, decrease the gusset and then head on down the foot! Next week I will show you how to decrease for the toe and do the Kitchener stitch. There are 6 videos in this segment because I wanted to be sure I presented everything in a clear, and empowering, way.
Just like I did with the first videos, I am going to start a discussion for each video in our… Continue

Last weekend I finished off the second pair of Ric Rac Socks from The Little Box of Socks. After that… Continue
My first introduction to Emma by Jane Austen was the movie starring Gwyneth Paltrow. I was disappointed in the characters - none of whom I liked. I assumed it was the interpretation of the director.
When I discovered Juliet Stevenson narrating Sense and Sensibility beautifully, I… Continue
In an attempt to justify my current sock knitting I've decided to recruit more sock knitters. If everyone knits socks then my behavior will become the norm.
This is the first of five videos in the first segment of the sock knitting videos. These five videos will get a new sock knitter up to casting on and working the leg. My plan is to follow up with the second segment to work the heel flap, heel turn, picking up the heel flap stitches and starting to work on the gusset dec… Continue
