*****Wedding is over, Let the knitting and quilting begin again.

The wedding is over but my project are still going on. In the past weeks I've made gifts for guests, and even Erinn's veil. It was such a busy time. During all the rush I was able to make my swatch for the Cardigan KAL. I'm off to cast on sleeves this afternoon while recooperating and lounging in the easy chair. Here's my… Continue

*****Winding till I'm blue in the face

Here is a shot of my wound yarn balls that I prepared for the Classic Line Cardigan. I thought I'd never get done winding this lace weight yarn. I started swatching this past weekend and will be glad to finish and finally start the sweater. I think the KAL is going to be fun. Even though we had snow in Ohio last week, the days that followed were bright blue skies with more than a hint of spring. The birds are up early each morning making all the noise… Continue

*****Spring 2009

That's how I feel, like a Spring. The time since my last blog post has been filled with the makings of wedding plans for my daughter and now that date is rolling around in just a few more days. Life will return to normal and my quilting and knitting can become part of my daily routine again, which is currently a jumble of odd tasks as we prepare for the big day. The very day after the wedding I'm sure I'll be wondering....."what will we talk about… Continue

*****Sunrise Sunset, take a potty break

In the month of March I started to watch for the sun to rise early each morning. Our row of kitchen windows face the east and in the month of March the sun rises dead center over the field behind the house. Some mornings I'd lean against the kitchen cabinets, coffee cup in hand and just wait. In a matter of minutes that sunrise would be over but the winter was so long this year that I felt compelled to make sure the sun would warm the morning just as… Continue

*****Happy Days are here again!!!!!

Everything is back to normal here at the house. Well as normal as usual anyway. The kids are healing. The eldest daughter purchased a new car and the future son in law is healing. I can relax, I can knit.

When I first came to the Knitting Community I joined the Sweater Workshop. My book from Knit Picks came just three days ago and after peeling the book from the mailer I was ready to start a sweater, any sweater. After cracking the cover open I realized I had quite a bit of reading… Continue

*****A long weekend for knitting

You know how sometimes you think you have all your ducks in a row. You make plans, get excited for a certain weekend or planned event? Well that's what I did all last week. I'd sit at my desk at work and day dream about the coming weekend when I knew I would have the house to myself to clean out my closet, quilt a bit on my mothers day gift for Mom, and of course rent a book or movie from the library and watch and knit in the evenings. You see, my husband had planned a little weekend trip of… Continue

The last of winter?, perhaps! Probably not!

My first blog post. I'm new to the Knit Picks Community. I'm new to blogging too but felt compelled to start this blog. Who knows, it might just be fun. I'm going into work late today. It's now snow covered again, having witness another 5 inches or more of soggy snow last night. Our eldest daughter was in a car accident late in the evening. Slippery roads caused a young girl to lose control of her car and come left of center, creating an almost head on collision. Both the girls are brusied but… Continue
