High Fiber—Final Fitting

The Prayer Cardi for Jim fit perfectly!

If you have been following my blogs, you know the story behind this sweater. For those of you who haven't read my past posts, this cardigan has an interesting story. My DSIL, who passed away a year ago in October, started this for her husband, Jim. Before she died, she…

Jozelynn's Prayer Shawl

Jozelynn's Prayer Shawl

The first week in August a friend of mine asked me to help her knit a prayer shawl for Jozelynn, the daughter of a friend of hers with N-stage leukemia.  I agreed and cast on that night and we switched back and forth.  Last Saturday my friend told me the 12 year old girl had been granted a Wish from the Make-a-Wish Foundation.  Jozelynn and her family were…

Bleh! Hate RSV and chest infections...and cancer

Bleh! Hate RSV and chest infections...  For the 2nd time this year I have contracted a bacterial infection in my lungs and they are definitely NO FUN!  I get through the day at work and don't have energy to knit.  :(  Trying very hard to stay on course and finish this baby blanket so that I can block and get it to my niece, sometime before she graduates from high school.  :)

Hosted my Prayer Shawl meeting in my Studio a couple of weeks ago, and it was so very nice to get together and…

Le Sigh! the saga of stitchingmama's Lenten Mystery KAL continues....

Le SIGH! Sunday I am sitting and knitting trying to finish this, when suddenly I noticed the last skein of my chosen yarn dwindling away to almost nothing! And I still had 20+ rows to go, with lots of BOBBLES! And Fringe!  Arggg!   Since this yarn is 25+ years old, chances are pretty good that I will be unable to find anything close to a match.

So, off I go to the closest LYS and get 2 100g skeins each of two different yarns and take them home to choose at my leisure.…

Another Month begins!

I finally finished unraveling the shrug whose yarn I plan to knit the Eiffel Tower Shawl with, have untangled thousands of miles of rayon springy yarn and wound it onto balls. Now, I just need to finish this current shades-of-blue prayer shawl and then I can in good conscience begin knitting the new Eiffel Tower!

The downer is that I lost my cell phone with all of my contact numbers! Yikes. I had to order a new phone and could not leave the office at all since I could not forward to… Continue

Keeping busy at home, at work!

I have been keeping busy at home fighting off a flu bug and knitting when I can and since this is mid-May in West Texas I am fully occupied at the office of our air conditioning business.

This weekend I finished knitting the front and back of the Lace Sampler Sweater in my previous blog. Huzzah! I misread the instructions and thought I was supposed to join both shoulder seams and knit the neck in the round. I love the way that has turned out and have one sleeve 3/4… Continue
