High Fiber—Stitches and Snow

It was a great week for quilting. Common Threads met at Janet's, and we had a variety of projects.

Ellen is working on the second block for her Home Sweet Home quilt. She isn't sure if she'll make all…

High Fiber—Hare-brained Scheme

It might have been a hare-brained scheme to make four bunnies, but I finished the third boy bunny, this one for Johan.

Here's what he looks like without his little kimono. He's wearing garter-stitch booties and soaker, actually knitted as part of the legs and body.…

High Fiber—The Last Bunny...by a Hare.

I finished the second boy bunny, this one for Soren.

He and Zachy's bunny have the same attire, although the bunnies look very different, so we won't get them mixed up at Christmas. Daphne's bunny is wearing Mary Janes, actually knitted as her feet. The two boy bunnies get Nikes (also…

High Fiber— Bunnies Multiply!

The girl bunny is finished, although I have plans for a sweater to go over her sun dress

Girl bunny went with me to Vintage Stitchers, where she met Julie's fox and elephant. They became fast friends.…

Finally Some Finished Projects!

Hello Knitters,

I don't know if I mentioned this or not, but a while ago I was getting quite overwhelmed with all my WIPs.  My Mom noticed this and made the suggestion that I start limiting the new projects I add and start finishing up all the ones I already have going.  I thought that was a brilliant plan (although a bit not so fun to stick to when you want to start somethig new right away....especially with all the cute new patterns out there) but I've been doing my best to…

Hello Knitters,

I've finally got some photos to share!  Sorry it's taken me so long.  First I'd like to show a picture of my Sunday Swing Socks knit out of Stroll Hand-Paint in Cartoons.  I actually have these on my feet as I write this.  They are super cozy, soft and a perfect fit!  They keep my feet warm enough, but not too warm.  Just the right thing for these chilly winter nights!

No FO's... No Pics, But Progress Just The Same

Ok, I finished the FIRST alpaca sock... I cast on for the second one the same day, and have finished the ribbing and a few inches of the leg, but the little needles were killing me.

I had cast on for a scarf using double stranded Palette in Golden Heather and Salsa Heather... two very pretty colors... but the pattern was just not working... I have frogged twice... and changed patterns another time, and I think I have a scarf that will have some leaves in pretty fall reds and golden… Continue

What's Up with Susan

Last Tuesday I finished the Alpaca Hemlock Ring Blanket and posted pictures of it being blocked. Today the happy owner came after her blanket and brought her husband along. They were both very pleased with the blanket. Here is the final picture:

And a closeup of the center petal, which I think is the prettiest part:

Since then I've been working on some baby items for the… Continue

Two More Items Finished

Before casting on my second Linday sock, I needed a little mindless knitting. I had purchased some of the New Simply Cottom in Ginger and knit this Shower Cloth, that I will gift to my daughter as a Mother's Day gift (of course I'll add some nice bath products.

Here is a close up of the texture.

Finally, I had two partial balls of yarn left over from the socks for my daughter in… Continue
