Ask the Fairy Godknitters—A New Group!

The three of us (cherylbwaters, Susan the Blue Lake Knitter and Peggy Stuart) have been thinking that the Knitting Community needs one place for people to get help with knitting and crocheting problems. People ask for help in the Chat Room and in various KALs. Sometimes easy problems show up in the Learn To Knit KAL, but more often serious problems are encountered by experienced knitters who don't usually go to the Learn To Knit KAL. Usually one of us finds the question and alerts the others or… Continue

High Fiber—Travel and UFOs.

On blog day last week (aka "Talk Like a Pirate Day" and DH's birthday), we were driving home from Mesquite, Nevada, where we overnighted on our way back from San Diego. I spent the day riding shotgun and working on my TAU (Therapy Animals of Utah) Socks, the perfect color to go with my uniform shirt, which I wear when Sunny and I visit the nursing home. I finished the socks after we got home.

We had a great time in San Diego, where we had…

A New School Year (year 4 of teaching for me, year 3 of school for Dino)

Bye bye summer vacation.  Poop.  This is Dino and a shark.  We didn't actually get to go into the aquarium, but we'll go next time I suppose.

Now it's back to school.  I wanted to get a new sweater and blanket done for Dino for the first day, but that didn't happen.  I have a sleeve and a half of the…

And Back to Our Regularly Scheduled Knitting...

Hello everyone,

Actually I’ve been back to my knitting for almost a month, but have been on a sort-of knitting binge to finish up a project. My family always hates when I have a deadline because I get so obsessed and everything else in my life becomes an interruption. OK, so I’m guilty, but I was sort of on vacation, too. I finished the Harvest Shawl for my dear aunt who turned 80 on…

In the Works: Ionian

It's a miserable rainy day here on Long Island. Perfect for knitting, which is exactly what I've been doing! There are 2 designs currently on my needles – a bath rug and a unisex beanie. I've been favoring the beanie today because it has a little more going on. (The rug is a good social project, but it doesn't keep my attention well when it's just me and my knitting.) I've dubbed this beanie "Ionian." It will eventually be a part of another collection of hats named after musical modes. The…

Hat patterns for Magic Loop and or two circular needles

Hello, All Knitters,

Thank you for all your great suggestions. I have downloaded the instructions for both the Magic Loop and two circular needles. Now I would like to know whether there are any hat patterns, either for sale or as "freebies," for either Magic Loop and, or two circular needles that I can buy and, or download. I would also like to have the instructions for converting existing patterns done on double-pointed needles either as a download or to purchase.

Thank you,…
