Location: Rural New York State

About Me:: Hey! I am an avid knitter and crocheter, I learned as a girl from my mama and grandmother. I learned to knit in the Eastern European style, and then learned this was "wrong", LOL. So i learned Western knitting. NOW i know it is just a different stitch configuration, so i enjoy both ways. I sometimes knit in the Combination style as well. I love all the different methods for different purposes.

I love making hats (knit) and amigurumi (knit or crochet). I have been wanting to try socks forever. I actually have many pairs started, but none finished :-) Maybe this is the year... **UPDATE** i made a little pair of baby socks, and absolutely loved making them! I hope to make more. BUt ... so many projects... so little time :o) NoW my newest project to conquer is spinning.

I also love to quilt, tat, and sew. And cook. And make cleaning products. And recycle stuff.... I have been known to stuff my amigurumi with dryer lint ;-) This is an eastern thing, or perhaps a lesson from my depression era Father - don't waste anything.

I am crazy about making stuff from scratch - not just food, and clothes, but also laundry detergent. But ya, mostly food, LOL. i make my own yoghurt, bread, pasta, junk like that. Even filo dough for baklava :) (Remember, I am Eastern European)

I am married and have three children, aged 6, 4 and 1.
I do have MS, have had it since my first was born. So my hands are clumsy and my vision is quite sketchy. I have periods of blindness. Please do excuse my typing errors!! And i tend to ramble, probably from the brain damage ;o)

Thanks to Kelley P's awesome you tube tutorials. It was So EASY, i got my mom to start a pair too. I made a pair of toddler socks for my 1 year old. They are in Caution WOTA (worsted weight) with squirrel grey heels and toes. No pictures, as i just never get a chance, lol.

I am now making a pair of light pink anklet socks (palette sock yarn) for my 6 year old. They will actually have some blue variegated craft store sock yarn ( by some celebrity that i don't recognize) for the heels… Continue

Here it is, twenty ten! The aughts are over!!

I am not one for new year's resolutions. I resolve to do things all the time, any time of year. And I actually do some of them, I am just type-A like that. SO, any resolution I make on January 1st is just a regular old resolution, no need to call it a "New Year's Resolution"

So anyway, what have I resolved to do, particuarly concerning my knitting & crocheting?

New Born's Going Home Hat

Yahoo, I just love hats!!! And I love color work to spice it up. This hat was made at the request of a friend, expecting her second in January. I put it off so long (she asked back in October!) and I JUST managed to finish it, hopefully she will receive it before the birth, as it is to go with the baby's going home outfit. It is a basic little hat with a bit of 1x1 ribbing, then some very simple colorwork to match the outfit. I made it up as i went along.…
