About Me:
I am a harpist and harp teacher in NJ. I have been knitting since I was 5 years old when an elderly Scottish neighbor taught me as I sat at her feet. She gave me a tremendous gift: a lifetime of creativity and pleasure.
I have two grown sons and two grandsons. I knit for them and my husband. So, I am always looking for good patterns for men and boys.

The Knitter's Gift Basket

For several years now my husband and I have been supporting Heifer International a charitable organization which gives animals to needy families around the world enabling them to become self sufficient and productive citizens in their own countries.

Heifer International does this by collecting donations from people everywhere and using that money to purchase animals that they know can provide good incomes as…

I'm not sure. I like the Miralda's Triangular shawl and the Triinu scarf. It's so hard to decide. There are so many beautiful shawls to choose from out there. I think I'll stick with the Knitted Lace of Estonia book.

Thank you for becoming my friend. Yes, my four dogs are all shelties, weighing in at 18 to 40 pounds. I would probably have more shelties but the vet bills and grooming needs slowed me down. It takes quite a bit to keep them all happy and healthy. I just recently purchased a spinning wheel (Sonata) and am learning to spin. Hope to also learn to dye. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving! Now on to the Christmas madness. LOL.

I apologize for not responding sooner. I'm still trying to figure out how to use the community forum. I do so enjoy your comments in the various spinning threads. Glad to have you as a friend. Wishing you good health and creativity! Hugs!

Frances, I've been having a major brain freeze lately, so it took me a little while to figure out that this was the best place to say some [I can't remember all...] of the things that have gone through my head as I have been reading your comments on various discussions the last few days.
What a treasure you are!! There is so much to learn from someone who has been spinning as long as you have, especially since you have been a teacher. I did not know that KP had a SpinAlong when I joined the community. I was only expecting knitting comradship, so that was a pleasant surprise! And I'm very glad. I just don't have the money to spend on a lot of the books available, [besides a big family, we are starting a new business], and we are way out in the countrry so a library is not a source for me any more [I don't drive.]. I do subscribe to Spin-Off and glean a lot from there, but being online here is cozier, so I am glad you are here, since you are such a seasoned spinner. I'm looking forward to more info coming from you.
Oh, yes! I used to think I was born in the wrong century, too, until a friend of mine said God put me here for this time and for a purpose. I'm glad you are here now, otherwise all of the above could not be said! =)

Wow, Frances, I just now checked the last comment you sent me and read it through. Sorry it took me so long. Maybe we are related! My Dad's Grandpa was from Kentucky! I finished the baby surprise jacket and it turned out really nice, although too big. I'm going to do another one smaller this time.
