I studiously avoided knitting sox for over 40 years. I AM THE QUEEN OF AVOIDANCE! I figure the time has come . I don't have the book or the yarn yet. I just decided today to stop the avoiding. I'm counting on all of you for moral support and assistance. I shall return.

Knitting socks for charity gives me much pleasure. I'm going to a retreat to learn more about knitting socks on long circular needle, two at a time. This would solve at least three problems, socks matching in size, and getting the job done, and finding someone to wear them. It is rewarding to help others.

I'm doing a pair of the 'fab for flip flops' p. 71 for the girl who does my hair and nails and worked on them during a recent bus ride (4 1/2 hrs) to NYC. I planned on doing a pair for my 12-yr old cousin but she informed me Thanksgiving that she 'hated' socks. Oh, well, who can I give them to now?

The zigzag socks are done and I'm working on another pair of footlets! It's a good thing my family likes hand knitted socks!

I am working on the zigzag socks for a Christmas gift. Love them! I've already made the footlets and the lovely lace socks. Out of all my sock books, this one is becoming the favorite!

I have chosen to knit the Covered in Cable socks, but have run into what seems to be a problem with the instructions for the cabling. Does anyone else knit this pattern?
Renee Comment by Renee on September 22, 2008 at 5:47pm
I started the striped chevron shaped socks. I am doing them on a set of five needles, four with the stitches and one to work with. This is great since there is one pattern on each needle. This way I don't have to count! I really like the book.
SOCKGIRL Comment by SOCKGIRL on September 13, 2008 at 9:12pm
Well, Hi ! I just joined this Sock knit-a-long.. also have enough wool to do 25 pairs of socks and I knit both socks on dpn so I don't get bored and won't finish them.. I'll have to find the book you all are using and get started on one of the patterns.
