I'll suggest the idea of a cable knit along. However, if you want a specific knit along for "Cables Untangled", there are a couple of good places to look on Ravelry (www.ravelry.com).
I've been looking for a Stonington Shawl knitalong. I'm halfway through the center diamond, and I have some questions. As usual, EZ throws you the schematics and you're on your own. I'm loving the Alpaca Cloud, although it slows me down, because I keep stopping my knitting so I can hold it up to my face! --Peggy
You might want to check out the Stonington Shawl on Ravelry. Here is a link: Stonington Anyway, there are links to other people who have knit the shawl, forums, blogs, and comments that might answer your question.
Thanks! There were some nice photos, and it was fun reading what everyone wrote about it. I was kind of looking for a group of people I could share the experience with. I have lots of projects, though, so maybe one of them with show up as a KP knitalong. --Peggy
I love KAL's. It looks like cables are very popular; I'm in a KAL right now on CafeMom in a group called Knitty Gritty so I don't want to do anything with cables right now. I did notice a previous post for the Mitered Squares Blanket from Mason-Dixon Knitting, now that would be fun! Never tried socks, I don't have that passion yet.
I don't know if we will be doing a Mitered Squares KAL, but I recommend that pattern highly. I knit one for my grandma for Christmas and a lot of other people here at Knit Picks have been knitting the log cabin blankets from Mason Dixon. Check out the Mitered Squares blanket on January One's blog, it's beautiful! Here is the link: http://www.januaryone.com/archives/knit/knit_quilts/madness/
Hi there! Would love to join a knit-along, but not sure how to do this. I'm in the UK, so would have to order everything through mail order. And I just LOVE to physically go and look at the yarns and books before ordering something. And that's not possible I can do over the net.
I see you have regular sock knit-alongs. How about sweaters or cardigans?
Also, for the knit-alongs, should we be using all the yarns suggested or would you mind using substitutes? There are some fabulous yarns available here that I could substitute for others that are otherwise only available over the internet. Again, I don't mind ordering, but on the screen they look different than when you actually see and touch them in the store.
Hope I'm not sounding too internet-phobic, cause that's not me, really.
Thanks.
Maria
