Thank you sooooooooooooooo much for *finally* making your Options fixed length circulars in 40″ and 47″ lengths! I am a die-hard 2-socks-at-a-time knitter, and have been limited to the number of socks I can cast on at one time because I didn’t want to pay outrageous sums for those other celebrated needles whose name sounds like ‘daddy.’ (I like ‘em, but their price is not conducive to amassing many pair.)
So, again, thank you thank you thank you! My shopping cart is loaded and waiting for 1/11!

I am so delighted to see that you will be offering the 0’s, 1’s, and 2’s in a 40 inch length. I have been asking for them ever since you offered and I tried the Options needles. Thank-you! Thank-you!

I was just gifted a set of the harmony wood dpn's and I LOVE them. Although I have to say I'm a little freaked out about using the size 1's..........LOL. I just don't want to break one as I'm a fairly tight knitter. I love the way they feel and the way the yarn glides over them. They are so smooth, it's hard to believe they're wood. I just can't praise them enough. I just really LOVE the harmony needles.........all of them!!!

I thought I was a big fan of bamboo....till I tried the Harmony 6" DPN's. I was looking for something shorter and sharper, and I knew the Harmony's would be sharper. Now to amass a stockpile of size 1's!

I absolutely love these needles....I've tried many in all price ranges over the years and these by far outperform the rest ....I am a loyal fan....please don't discontinue these...I don't think I'd ever knit the same...too busy crying in my tea...Hahahaha! Keep up the good work.

I am planning to learn the magic loop method of knitting two socks at once. BUT, I want to order the book, yarn and needles at the same time! So, can anyone tell me what length I will need to knit two socks with one circular? Also, I knit VERY loosely, so I will probably be needing a 0 or 1 to knit sock yarn. Would it be better for me to use the metal or wood needles? I'm just a bit concerned about breaking a wood needle that small, LOL! Any practical advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi there! For length, I would recommend choosing a circular needle with a 40" cable.

Each type of needle, though, has its own merits. The Harmony needles, for example, are less "slick" and that helps to hold your stitches on the needle. The nickel-plated needles are smoother for faster knitting, and, although the Harmony needles are very durable, the nickel-plated needles would completely eliminate your worries about breakage. Needle choice is such a personal thing, and it really depends on what feels good in your hands.

You could also order one of each type and try them out by using the two socks on two circulars method!

I was on an airplane and there was a slight accident involving another passenger, the flight attendant, a container of salad dressing and my KnitPicks Fixed Circulars! So I think my nickel plated fixed circulars are in need of a bath. Any suggestions?

We won't even mention the sock that was on the circulars...I think I was more upset about my knitting needles and sock than the fact that almost every piece of clothing I had on had salad dressing on it. At least the hand knit socks on my feet escaped the deluge!

Thanks!

We just held an informal office poll, and it sounds like dish detergent (like Dawn) is the hands-down favorite pick for cleaning up your nickel-plated needles. Good luck cleaning them up!

I have recently received your Option circular needles in the 32" length in sizes 0, 1, 2, 3 for knitting socks. I figured out how to do both socks at the same time. I really love your needles. I think that I have tried most types of needles and these are my favorite of all time. I can't wait to get all of them.

I really like my new Harmony fixed circular needle--both the finish and the point make it a pleasure to work with. I hope that you will consider making these needles in larger sizes for those of us who don't care for interchangeable needles.

Dear Roxanne: It's interesting that youre saying that about interchangeable needles. All of my needles are fixed. There are a few odd sizes where the needles are the old Susan Bates fiberglass that I had toyed with the idea of replacing. But now that you say that about the yarn getting caught,,,, I think I'll stick with the fixed and go with Addi's or bamboo. As I have been doing. I did buy a set of harmony fixed dp's over the winter to do hats and I found them a pleasure to work with.
