I love the interchange, you can add as you want or need and get more cables when needed, I have some and will add to them. I just love the color of the harmony wood. Irene
Well this is actually about all my KP needles I first recieved my nickel plated interchangables for Christmas 2 years ago then through out the next year I collected the fixed circular needles in nickel plated and the harmony wood in the smaller sizes then for Christmas this past year I recieved the Harmony interchangables and then for Mothers day I recieved a set of the straight harmony needles, and through out I started collecting the other large sizes of interchangables and I cannot even comprehend what I would do without these needles they make all the other needles I have absolutly useless (well maybe not useless) but I think I can say I am probably in the collecting side of the needles but I do love using them had so much trouble with other brands wouldn't trade my KP for anything. Thank guys and Happy Knitting
Same here! I keep a little square of rubberized shelf liner in my knitting tool kit to help tighten and unscrew the tips. It makes it so easy, with the little tool for the cable side and my little square of shelf liner for the tip side. I adore the Options, both nickel plated and Harmony. --Peggy
Hello!
I was just thinking about how it might be easier to measure a top-down project by trying it on with the options cables. A male-female connector for the options cables may be the answer! It would connect multiple cables with minimal interruption in the knitting process. We would just slide the stitches over on the working cable and add as many cables as necessary connecting each cable with a small male-female connector.
What do you think?
Patey: Sounds like a good idea to me. I have a 60" cable, and I can get my whole body through that, but I would have to switch a smaller project to the bigger cable to try it on. Unless you ML the project, which I haven't done much. I prefer to work with two circs. --P
I've been wanting a connector so I can connect multiple cables together too. I get into very large projects and sometimes the 60" just isn't long enough!
You can always string several cable needles together. For instance, if you yave 300 sts and no cable or cable needle long enough, but you have three cables with enough tips the right size, you can put 100 sts on each cable needle. I've done that. If you're a really loose knitter, you might want to put point protectors on the ones you aren't actively knitting with, so the sts don't slide off. A big project can get heavy, and might take off on its own when you pick up one end.
Oh! That's a good idea! Usually I just bunch the stitches on a single cable so tightly that it gets to the point that I can't effectively knit. I'll try your suggestion next time.
Well I have been looking for a place to say Thank You for your help with my Harmony Options set. When a few needles split I was so dismayed! I sure thought that I was going to have to reorder them. But I sent Customer Service an email and Voila, help was on the way! Knit Picks is old time customer service! Thank you again for all of the help.
