Hello,

I just had a fun moment that I want to share. I was looking at the artist's club site for the first time today. My 8 yr old daughter came and stood behind me and said, "Oh, harmony brushes"

Has her mommy been bragging about the Harmony needles? Wonder why?

I've said very little, but she has a couple pair of her own and has her own opinions! : )

I’d like to just start a running thread for people who have purchased Options interchangeable circular needles, in the wood Harmony or the metal Nickel and LIKE/LOVE them.

Please state if you

have either metal or wood Options, or both
about how long you’ve had them
why you like them, if it isn’t obvious
If you’ve had problems,

have you been satisfied with KP’s response to that problem?
would your experience with the needles or Customer Service cause you to rethink your purchase?
PLEASE only post here about problems if you are STILL satisfied with your Options needles EVEN THOUGH you had some issue with them.

There are tons of threads running about problems and questions about whether one wants to risk having a problem by ordering them. If that’s your story, please be respectful of the purpose of this thread and tell those stories in one of those threads.

This is a “grateful/happy” place for those of us who have Options needles and are satisfied with our experience.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’ll start:
I have a complete set of the metal Nickel Options, plus one pair of Harmony wood needle points. I also have some of the smaller fixed cable needles in “sock sizes” with which I am equally pleased. I got my set somewhere near two years ago (2007) and have had no problems. I’ve had one cable that was defective, but no other issues.
You couldn’t take my Options needles from me with an Uzzi and six mean dogs!
Ditto.
I have a complete set of the Nickel Options, three pair of Harmony wood needle points, three fixed circular needles (Size 1,2,3) in both Nickel and the Harmony. I got the set over a year ago - 2007. Bought the Harmony tips shortly after they were put on the market. The only problems I have had were with two of the 24" cables - I think if I would have used a longer cable that the join would have stayed in tact. Also have a set of the Harmony cable needles - just couldn't resist.
I would not, could not use any other needle.
P.S. I also have one pair of Harmony straight needles.
Love all of them.
I just received my complete set of Harmony Options, so I haven't used them all yet (although they have endured some heavy petting!), but I have a couple of Harmony tips I had ordered earlier, have used extensively and have had no trouble with. I also have had no trouble with the nickel-plated tips I have, several pairs. The only difficulty I have had was with one fixed circ Harmony that had a rough place near the tip and was quickly replaced, and two fixed circ nickel-plated, same size, came in the same order, where the cables just broke in the middle with no pressure on them. Same experience. Both were quickly replaced, no questions asked. I replaced my Addi Turbos with the nickel-plated fixed circs because (sorry Addi) the tips wore out. I don't think I made more than six pairs of socks with them. They were the lace type, so maybe not appropriate for socks, I don't know, but I've done more than six pairs with the KP needles, and no problems. This is a size I use alot. I think it's important for us to continue to give KP feedback--both positive and negative--so they can continue to improve the manufacturing process. Keep up the good work, KP! --Peggy
I have the Harmony Options set, as well as a couple nickel fixed circs in size 2. My husband got me the set for Mother's Day 2008. The only issue I've had was last week when one of my size 4 wood needles snapped at the metal. I called, talked to Millie, and am awaiting the replacement one right now! The customer service I've encountered is just phenomenal. I have a TON of "inherited" plastic and metal straights, but always find myself grabbing my Options needles.
I'm actually thinking about asking for some of the straights for this coming Mother's Day!
I just wanted to add my 2 cents on these needles! I LOVE THEM!!!!!!!! I got both sets and fell in love with them. I got to use them for the first time and it was just like heaven. I had to go back to my old bamboo because they don't have the smaller needles yet. (hint hint) and boy was that a shocker at how much smoother and the tips well you all know. I think that they were a great investment for me. my-poodles
My-poodles: I think the reason there are only fixed circs in the smaller sizes is the problem with trying to make the connection for needles that thin. I'm OK, though, I have two of every size needle in both nickel-plated and Harmony in all the smaller sizes, but only 24" length. I use them for socks. (Yes, it's true! I'm a sockaholic!) Happy knitting! --Peggy
Okay, now I feel better. I've just decided that I really do need to invest in a second set of Nickel Options... I've got one full set plus all the other Nickel Options sizes, and all the smallest size fixed in Nickel (x2)... but only ONE pair of Harmony Options. Your collection makes me feel a less "gluttonous" when I think about getting more. LOL!
Can anyone tell me when collecting KP needles has become a pathological obsession??? LOL! Or, are those who have already crossed that line in too much denial to be able to see there was a line back there somewhere?
my wonderful daughter gave me the set of interchangable circular needles for mothers day last year. the BEST mothers day gift ever. i just love them. the feel of the wood in my hands is very natural. yarn doesnt slide off like with metal needles. they look so elegant when im working with them. i have lately been using them for all my projects other than sox]. my next purchase will be dpns in the harmony.
